Susan DeMattei was the first American to earn the bronze olympic medal in the 1996 Atlanta, Georgia Olympics.

Born in Marin county, California, Susan grew up to be an active woman and was first introduced to the sport of Mountain Biking while studying Nursing at California State University, Chico.

Placing in the top three at the National Off Road Bicycle Association through 1990-1996, Ms. DeMattei showed that women are just as adept and a competitive force in the mountain biking sport as men.

Susan has been the only American to win an Olympic medal.
